#3: ASML (NASDAQ: ASML)
ASML isnβt just another chip stock β itβs the beating heart of the global AI revolution. Without ASMLβs machines, TSMC canβt produce chips β and Nvidia doesnβt have any to sell. No ASML means no advanced semiconductors, and no AI boom.
ASML holds a global monopoly in EUV lithography, a technology thatβs essential for producing the worldβs most advanced chips. Its machines are used by every major chipmaker β from Intel to Samsung to TSMC β And with AI and cloud computing surging, the need for ASMLβs machines is only increasing.
We highlighted ASML as a Best Buy back in June β and since then, the stock has dropped further, despite beating expectations on every Q2 earnings metric: revenue, EPS, gross margin, and bookings all came in ahead of forecasts. So why the selloff?
A single line from ASMLβs CEO triggered it:
βAlthough we still expect growth in 2026, we canβt guarantee it at this point.β
That cautious tone β paired with macro uncertainties like rising import tariffs β spooked investors. But we believe the market overreacted. ASML isnβt forecasting a decline; itβs simply being conservative in its outlook. And with U.S. chipmakers like Intel and TSMC investing billions into domestic fabs, demand for ASMLβs machines isnβt going away, even if trade policies get tougher.
ASML still expects revenue to grow to β¬44β60B by 2030, up from β¬30B today, with margins climbing toward 60%. Itβs also accelerating share buybacks, having already surpassed 2024 totals in just the first half of 2025! Thatβs a clear sign of managementβs confidence.
Today, ASML trades at a forward P/E of 25.1 β a discount to its 10-year average of 35 (source: GuruFocus). For a company with this kind of monopoly, pricing power, and exposure to long-term AI and datacenter growth, the stock looks attractively valued.
Weβre not ignoring the risks, but we see them as short-term. ASMLβs moat is intact, its machines are essential, and its long-term growth potential remains strong. For investors seeking quality, strong leadership, and exposure to the most crucial link in the AI revolution, ASML remains one of our highest-conviction investments!
The Future Investors (Vincent & Stefan) currently hold a position in ASML.
Fundamental score: 79 π’ β Quality
Current stock price: $689.82
