February is behind us, and itโ€™s time to look back at how our portfolios performed last month. Which stocks performed well, which ones faced some challenges, and what moves did we make along the way? Take a look at our full recap of February!

Portfolio performance: how did we do?

February was a tough month for the markets, with falling indexes and more volatility due to growing political and economic uncertainty.

President Trump raised import tariffsโ€”25 percentage points on Mexican and Canadian goods and 10 percentage points on Chinese goods. This led to countermeasures and more trade conflicts. The higher tariffs also pushed inflation expectations in the U.S. up, while inflation in the eurozone is expected to stay low. Because of this, the Fed will likely slow down its rate cuts.

These developments put pressure on the markets, with broad declines across the board. High-growth tech stocks were hit the hardest, while the S&P 500 and Dow Jones also dropped this month:

  • S&P 500: -1.4% (+1.2% YTD)

  • Nasdaq: -4.0% (-2.4% YTD)

  • Dow Jones: -1.6% (3.1% YTD)
