The first step in investing was buying crypto. But I had zero idea what I was doing and gambled it away. I lost 97% of my money over a few painful months in 2018.
Then when Covid surfaced and I had a lot of time on my hands, I discovered value investing. That took me down a massive rabbit hole that I'm still navigating and will continue to navigate for the rest of my life. I'm very patient with my assets (I still have crypto I didn't gamble away, much of it made back a lot of my losses), so I have a natural inclination for value investing.
I have zero formal education in investing or finance. Everything I have learned is through learning from my own experiences and the experience of others. But my education seems to be working so far!

My investment strategy is to buy high quality businesses at reasonable prices. I like businesses with high returns on owners capital, high reinvestment rates and run by exceptional capital allocators. As long as the price offers me upside above my hurdle rates, then I may consider owning the business!

I'm sector agnostic. As long as I can understand the business, I'm willing to learn more about the sector to add to my circle of competence. But there are MANY sectors I don't think I can understand or simply have no desire to understand better.

Not enough space to write them all down. I'd probably go with Air Canada. It was one of the first stocks I bought, I had zero idea what I was doing, didn't understand the airline industry enough, and was mostly speculating as I though it was cheap. Luckily this was after COVID and I still made out with a profit despite have a very low opinion of the business.
