𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
My journey into investing began when my mom inherited participations in an investment fund from her dad. I noticed that you could follow the price development in the news paper on a daily basis.

I took my professional education at ABN AMRO Bank (later RBS) in Amsterdam and London. I worked in Asset Management and on the dealing floor in equity derivatives for 17 years in total. After that I did and do strategic projects at various smaller financial institutions. In 2020 I founded 'Markets Are Everywhere', a platform dedicated to educating self-directed investors.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆?
My main investment strategy centers around a long-term, buy-and-hold approach. I diversify my holdings by investing in a mix of ETFs, individual stocks and bonds. Additionally, I also have a second strategy that involves taking advantage of speculative opportunities, sometimes employing derivatives in the process.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗰𝗸𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗼?
I typically keep my portfolio diversified with an average of around 20 different stocks.

𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗻?
I follow Mega Caps in general and technology, energy and luxury goods (like cars) in particular. Everything that has to do with the large transitions in digital, energy and mobility.

$PANW - Palo Alto Networks (in 2023)

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲?
The most significant stock mistake I made was putting money into solar and wind investments back in 2010. Unfortunately, I ended up losing 90% of my investment when it turned out that China became the lowest cost producer in the industry.
